Ich gebe es zu: Ich kann mit Babies nicht viel anfangen. Klar, so ein kleines schwabbeliges Etwas mit großem Kopf und Riesenaugen ist schon putzig, aber da, wo bei Frauen und den stolzen Eltern bei jeder noch so kleinen Kleinigkeit für gewöhnlich der "Aaaaaawwwwww"-Reflex einsetzt, kommt bei mir nur ein "okay, ein Baby, und weiter?". Jüngst bestätigt durch den Besuch in der Heimat, als ich auch meine kleine, knapp 16 Monate alte Nichte wiedersah. Das Würmchen kann mittlerweile prima laufen, plappert munter drauf los und zeigt Zähne, aber mehr als Freude darüber, dass sie putzmunter und gesund ist, kommt bei mir nicht rum.
Wer mir nicht glaubt, soll mir bei Gelegenheit einfach mal ein Baby in die Hände drücken und meine Reaktion abwarten.
Aber keine Sorge, sobald die Sache mit dem unkontrollierten Speichelfluss, der fragmentarischen Kommunikation und dem nichts-mit-einem-Ball-anfangen-können geklärt ist wird es bei mir wieder besser. Bis dahin bleibt es erst einmal bei "okay, ein Baby, und weiter?".
